I’ve been curious about the current tech trends that are inflated and will die out due to the simple fact that all the high tech companies that are currently making money are being copied by the latest startups. While everyone seems to be holding on to their dot-com glory, I’m beginning to think that their companies are destined to fail.
It seems that everyone is keeping up with the latest trends in technology, but not everyone is marketing to the “customer”. It appears as if everyone is chasing the hottest new trend or service, but not everyone knows how to leverage that hot new trend to improve their business. I have studied several of the most popular tech trends and have come to the conclusion that there is no way that the most popular tech trends will still be in existence a decade from now.
One of the earliest trends that I studied was the early nineties tech trends and how the giant companies failed when they tried to create a buzz around their services. After a short period of time, they lost their customers and plummeted to earth. This trend is likely to die out soon and I can only hope that it has done enough damage that it causes people to run for the hills as fast as possible.
Another trend that is very popular in today’s media is those TV shows that attempt to predict the future of the markets. You have shows like the Futurists and some of the other popular “future” shows. I’ve watched the episodes of these shows and was truly amazed at the clairvoyant abilities that they had. Every time I tuned in, I thought I’d see a prediction of the future of the markets and how they would change, but every time it happened, it didn’t quite go as predicted.
They made predictions for various technologies and services and how they would change, but each time, it was different. The only thing that stayed consistent was that the predictions always seemed to be only partially correct and that the products would end up changing to meet the predictions. They did a lot of things right when they came up with these predictions, but every time they went back and gave their own thoughts on the market, they seemed to think that the markets were still going to be a profitable industry and therefore did nothing to warn us about the market, which made the predictions useless.
Is the current tech trends that are inflated and will die out due to the fact that these companies are not doing what they should do? I think the answer is obvious and yes, if these companies are doing what they should be doing and they are aware of the trends, they need to make sure that they are aware of the current trends and that they are following the current trends that are inflated and will die out. Their failure to be updated and use technology as the main driving force behind their products and services will likely cause their downfall.
If they make a new product that they think will be popular, they should use that new product as a springboard to the current trends that are inflated and will die out. If they understand the tech trends that are inflated and will die out, they need to research and study how to capitalize on the current trends. If they realize that the trends are becoming inflated and will die out, they need to make sure that they aren’t too far behind the current trends and that they are ahead of the curve.
I’ve considered it a very important question of whether these tech trends will still be alive ten years from now. If someone in their company realized this ten years ago, they may have already decided that they are headed for a rough ride because the current trends that are inflating and will die out will almost certainly survive. Don’t be late to the party, you might get left in the dust.
